Operations Manager @ HOOD-EIC





• Manage all the Production, Manufacturing and Quality Engineering Operations functions/activities and ensure the safeguarding of the company’s assets
• Develop a system of complementary cross-functional objectives that integrate with others’ within the company that ensure the company meets safety, quality, cost, and service expectations
• Lead recurring meetings with sales/marketing, supply chain, engineering on bettering the operational throughput.
• Provide leadership that ensures positive and effective employee relations. Provides employees coaching, development, accountability and makes employment decisions (hiring/terminations of subordinates) and resolves employee conflicts effectively
• Standardization of operational processes in the facility that result in predictable outcomes
• Ensure quality, productivity, safety and cost targets are met daily, weekly & monthly while maintaining a positive quality of work life environment
• Manages and develops departmental performance standards in the plant, and provides relevant KPI data.
• Identify new processes, products, materials, and technologies, and bring the resulting product/process improvements to market in a timely manner.
• Implements and holds all accountable to departmental policies and procedures
• Oversees the plant floor and all activities within
• Responsible for meeting the daily production run rate schedule based off of the production mix/model schedule
• Developmental performance reviews for employees
• Provide a safe and productive work environment
• Staff development for succession planning and functional excellence


Job Requirements & Experience:

• College degree BA/BS in Engineering, Operations or Business Management, Masters is a plus
• Proven ability to lead people and get positive results
• Demonstrated progressive operations management experience in manufacturing operations
• Experience in close tolerance machining and welding operations
• Experience with low volume high mix manufacturing environments
• Develop and report measurements of performance to goals and standards
• Lean manufacturing experience utilizing Lean tools, including but not limited to: One piece flow, cell mfg., Fail-safing/Poka-Yoke, SMED, Kaizen, Visual Factory/5’s, Theory of Constraints, VSM, & TPM
• Verifiable skills to access the operations and prepare gap analysis with action plans for continuous improvements
• Supervision to include: staff development, hiring, terminations, retention and performance reviews and discipline
• Training, development and empowerment of employees thru certification matrices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities
• Assertive, analytical problem solver with a can do attitude is required
• Quantifiable results from past positions/employers that demonstrate your ability to meet the requirements
