When low suction pressure or low tank levels are expected, Cryodynamics pumps are fitted with a high-solidity helical inducer as the first hydraulic stage. This allows the unit to operate at extremely low tank levels which virtually eliminates “dead stock” while maintaining stable operation over a wide flow range.
The inducer blades are tapered, with a thicker blade width at the root, to provide the strongest blade design possible. This design has proven extremely effective and reliable in all Cryodynamics pumps built to date.
Combining the well-proven technology with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software continues to improve NPSHR and pumpdown suction performance, allowing for lower liquid levels.
